What are STDs?

Sexually transmitted diseases, or STDs, are diseases that are transmitted from person to person through sexual intercourse. Previously, it was called “venereal disease” to refer to these diseases as gonorrhea, chancroid, syphilis, etc.

But now it is found that there are many infectious diseases that can be transmitted by other means than having sex with an infected person. Medically, these diseases are known as "Sexually Transmitted Diseases" For example, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Sexually transmitted diseases can be categorized into different types. For example, a classification based on the causative agent of STDs such as bacterial, viral or fungal.

Symptoms of patients with STDs

Therefore, if you experience any unusual symptoms, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist early for proper diagnosis and treatment.

The best prevention of STDs is to abstain from sex. In the unavoidable circumstances, you need to keep the following safety in mind:

  1. Do not change sexual partners too often and wear a condom every time. (For men)

  2. Men must wear a condom every time, especially when having sex with strangers.

  3. Annual examination for infectious diseases or blood tests to look for pathogens that are at risk, especially newly married couples.

  4. Don't have sex if you are menstruating because it can increase your risk of contracting the disease.

  5. Do not have anal sex because it can increase the risk of infection.
