What is Dalavir?
Dalavir is a combination antiviral medicine. It should not be taken with calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, aluminum, milk, or antacids.

Indications
Dalavir tablets are a fixed-dose combination medicine containing dolutegravir, lamivudine, and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate.
Dalavir tablets are indicated for the treatment of HIV infection in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older, weighing at least 40 kg. There is no supporting data for the use of Dalavir tablets with other antiretroviral medicines.
Dosage and how to use Dalavir tablets
Adults and adolescents
The recommended dose of Dalavir tablets for adults and adolescents (aged 12 years and older and weighing at least 40 kg) is 1 tablet once daily.
This medicine should not be used in adults or adolescents weighing less than 40 kg. It is a fixed-dose combination, so the dose cannot be adjusted. It should not be used in patients who need dose adjustment. ![]()
Children
Dalavir is not recommended for children under 12 years of age because there is no data on safety and effectiveness.
Elderly
Data on the use of dolutegravir in patients aged 65 years and older are limited. There is no evidence that elderly patients need a different dose compared to younger adults. Dalavir tablets should be used with caution in elderly patients.
Renal impairment
Dalavir tablets are not recommended for patients with moderate or severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 50 mL/min). These patients need dose adjustment of lamivudine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, which cannot be adjusted with a fixed-dose combination tablet.
Hepatic impairment
There are no pharmacokinetic data available for the fixed-dose combination of dolutegravir, lamivudine, and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate.
In patients with hepatic impairment Adverse effects should be closely monitored.If patients with HIV and HBV stop taking Dalavir tablets, they should be closely monitored for signs of worsening hepatitis.
Contraindications of Dalavir
- People with a history of allergy to dolutegravir, lamivudine, tenofovir, or any ingredient in the medicine
- Patients taking dofetilide
